Earthquake: swarm in the Phlegraean area, major tremor of magnitude 4.4

Since 12:06 AM today, a seismic swarm has been occurring in the Phlegraean Fields area, according to the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV). The strongest event recorded so far reached a magnitude of 4.4.

In response, the Italian Civil Protection Department's Situation Room has been in contact with local structures of the National Civil Protection Service.

Although the population felt the earthquake, initial assessments indicate that NO damage has been reported.
